P. J. Party Storytime
Tuesdays, April 29 – May 20 from 6:30 – 7:15 p.m.
Amy Stephenson will offer a P.J. storytime series for children 2 – 5 yrs. featuring stories, fingerplays & crafts with parent participation. Children may wear their pajamas.
Celebrate 5’s
Monday, May 5 from 4 – 5 p.m.
Karin Cockram will offer a storytime session for students in K – Grade 2 featuring stories and activities in celebration of the fifth day of the fifth month.

Literary Circle 2008-2009 schedule

The Literary Circle is conducted by writer & educator Anthony Bradford and explores classical books and films, and their relevance to our contemporary lives. Westfield Revisited: 100 years of Patterson Library
A celebration of the library in painting, photography and text from the collection upon the centennial birthday of the majestic building that was opened to the public in August of 1908.

Teen Works
An invitational to Westfield and the surrounding community’s students 13 – 18 years to create new works specifically for this gallery show.
November 28 – December 23:
Gift Show
The Gift Show will feature the works of local artists from Chautauqua County to encourage fine art holiday sales priced under $150.

The Patterson Library has been a regional center for the arts since 1971. The goal of the art gallery program is to enhance the cultural and intellectual life of the community by providing exhibitions and services that highlight the visual arts as well as other areas of cultural interest. The Octagon Gallery of the Patterson Library presents seven to eight exhibitions annually. These include artist exhibits, historic and cultural exhibits, and traveling exhibits on loan from other institutions.
The Octagon Gallery is an octagonal room located at the lower level of the library consisting of approximately 105 running feet of exhibition space.
Artists interested in exhibiting in the Octagon Gallery are encouraged to submit a written proposal accompanied by photographs and current vitae to Nancy Nixon, Art Gallery Specialist, Patterson Library, 40 S. Portage St., Westfield, NY 14787.
